Sodium Sulfide

Sodium sulfide is also known as odorous soda, yellow alkali。 Sodium sulfide is an inorganic compound, and pure sodium sulfide is a colorless crystalline powder. Strong moisture absorption and easy to dissolve in water. The aqueous solution shows strong alkaline reaction. Burns can occur when touching skin and hair. Therefore, sodium sulfide is commonly known as alkali sulfide. Because the formation rate of sodium thiosulfate is fast, the main product of oxidation is sodium thiosulfate. Sodium sulfide deliquesces in the air, carbonates and deteriorates, and continuously releases hydrogen sulfide gas. Industrial sodium sulfide is pink, brownish red and earthy yellow because it contains impurities. Specific gravity, melting point and boiling point also vary due to the influence of impurities.

·Product application

1. It is used in the dye industry to produce sulfide dyes. It is the raw material of sulfide blue and sulfide blue.

2.The paper industry is used as a cooking agent for paper.

3.The pharmaceutical industry is used to produce hot drugs such as phenacetin.

4.It is used for manufacturing sulfide dyes, leather depilating agents, metal smelting, photography, rayon denitration, etc.

5.Sodium sulfide can also be used for the treatment of conductive layer in direct electroplating. Colloidal palladium sulfide is
formed by the reaction of sodium sulfide with palladium to form a good conductive layer on the non-metallic surface.

6.Used as corrosion inhibitor. It is also the raw material of sodium thiosulfate, sodium polysulfide and sulfide dyes.
